Vans Super Cool and Beautiful Look Maker
Back to School is a key shopping season for Vans, and for this campaign, we reimagined the classic paper doll concept with a digital twist. Users could create and style avatars of themselves, dressing them in Vans shoes, apparel, and accessories. To bring the experience to life, we partnered with artist Jay Howell—known for Bob’s Burgers and Sanjay and Craig—to develop a diverse set of body types, hairstyles, and expressive facial features. Once complete, users could download a JPG of their avatar and seamlessly browse and shop the items they’d selected for their avatar. This campaign was a huge success, and we saw double-digit increases in overall average order and items per cart. The best quote I received was from the president of Vans when he said to the leadership team, "This is exactly the kind of thing we should be doing to connect and engage our core consumers".
