I've spent 20 years leading product design at Toyota and Vans, building teams, systems, and experiences that work at scale.
Right now I lead product and UX design for Toyota's digital ecosystem across web and mobile. I partner closely with product, engineering, and marketing to shape the experiences people use when they're researching, buying, and owning a Toyota. I lead a team of 17 designers and I'm currently building a Figma MCP plugin that connects our design system directly to AI generation, so the team can move from brief to first explorations faster without stepping outside the system we built.
Before Toyota, I spent over 20 years at Vans building the brand's global digital design organization from scratch. That meant commerce, mobile, product design, and some things that didn't have a category yet. The industry's first 3D WebGL shoe customizer, a Roblox world that reached 120 million users, and Vans Family, a membership and loyalty app that connected engagement directly to commerce.
The thread across all of it is that I'm drawn to problems too big or complex for a single team to solve alone. I like building the organizations and systems that let good design happen at scale, not just shipping good work myself but creating the conditions where other people can do the best work of their careers.
Outside of work I'm usually collecting something. Records, Japanese sofubi toys, baseball memorabilia. I draw. I tinker with my Moog synth. It keeps me curious in ways that tend to show up in the work.
